just a weird little sketch, sometimes you have to let yourself be lazy.

muerte!

one of my favourites, done in acrylic. the graphite skull is one of the preliminary sketches.

cheeky girl

woo! just found this old one, it's my lovely lady!

life study

quick 15 minute sketch done today. it's not a complete piece but it does have the chiaroscuro i'm a big fan of and there's an emotive quality to it that i'm trying to foster in my work.
quite like it!

mr cash

this was the first piece of art, of any kind, that i did after a rather extended sabbatical. it's in acrylic paint, which i like because i'm far too impatient for oils. acrylics allow you to build up layers very quickly as it dries in minutes.

a quick A1 sketch in compressed charcoal. i love charcoal and the compressed stuff allows you to create really dark lines. the photograph of the sketch is a bit gloomy but i've uploaded it here anyway 'cos i'm something of a maverick.

greyscale study

another one from my life-drawing class. i got a good 2-hour run at this one and i really rather like it. the legs really have a good sense of shape and weight. i also think i managed to create the feeling that she could be about to move at any point.
it also has quite a warm feel to it.
that's what concentration does for ya.

bat!

a quick sketch of a bat done with my left hand in trusty 4B graphite.

mrs. frankenstein

this little lady was created with a tattoo gun and inks, on a slab of "synthetic skin" which is, in fact, just a slab of rubber. it's tough going getting the ink to take on the rubber but all-in-all it's quite a sweet little piece and there's probably a wry inference to be drawn from an image of life re-created on fake skin.

candybox

i made this little collage approx. 9 years ago, i was lucky enough to find and empty Viagra box, and lo and behold, i had a flyer with a girl covered in candy. now there's some hard-hitting satire on the modern pharmo-industrial complex.
